KM-WRB X46 Stainless Steel Induction Hardened Linear Shaft

The X46 stainless steel induction hardened linear shaft, known by Kiwi Motion as KM-WRB is an affordable, high corrosion resistant stainless linear shaft. With our bespoke machining and cutting facilities and with our unwavering focus on quality, that serves the whole of the UK & Ireland and beyond, you can be sure you will receive only the best linear shaft for your application.

The Process

Due the combination of Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium the X46 stainless linear shaft has excellent corrosion resistance, toughness, and high vibration resistance. With superb hardening properties and a high grinding finish, the X46 WRB is perfectly suited for working in tandem with linear bearings.

All our linear shafts are induction hardened which is a type of heat treatment where the shaft is heated via induction heating, followed by quenching. This process allows us to achieve the required high standard of linear shaft than that of other steel rods.

This heat treatment process increases the hardness and brittleness of linear shafts, which in turn means that considerable expertise, know-how, and experience should be used when cutting and machining the linear shaft.

We demand only the very best from our linear shafts and work tirelessly to achieve consistency and top standards. This means the inner race only has the highest levels of straightness, surface hardening, diameter, surface finish and material cleanliness. These stringent controls mean optimum performance with minimal wear, low ongoing maintenance, and long life.

Bespoke To Your Requirements

We stock all our linear shafts in standard lengths. This does not mean you have to settle for ‘standard’. All our shafts are available cut to length and custom machined to drawing.

Advice & Support

As linear motion experts Kiwi Motion can help and guide you when choosing a linear shaft for your application. As stockists of a wide range of linear bearings and end supports Kiwi Motion can supply the complete solution for your machine design.
